Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Iron Muse Academy collects, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data. We've written this in plain English — not dense legalese — because you deserve to actually understand it.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
To personalize your experience, you may provide a profile photo, your golf experience level, and your general location (city and state) for the Partner Finder feature. This information is optional.
We collect data you create while using the App: practice logs, scores, milestones, badge progress, scheduled rounds, and notes. This data belongs to you and is used to power your experience in the App.
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers or full payment details on our servers. We receive only a payment confirmation and your subscription status from Stripe.
We may collect basic technical information such as your device timezone, platform type (iOS, Android, web), and user agent to provide a consistent experience and diagnose technical issues.
When you use the Swing Analysis feature, you may upload video recordings of yourself swinging a golf club. These videos are transmitted to Anthropic's API for AI-powered coaching analysis. Videos are stored securely and are only accessible to you — they are never shared with other users or displayed publicly.
When you use the GPS Companion feature, we access your device's real-time GPS location to calculate yardage distances. This location data is used only during active GPS sessions and is not stored on our servers after your session ends.
We do not sell your personal data. Ever. We share information only with these trusted service providers, solely to operate the App:
Each provider has their own privacy policy and is contractually prohibited from using your data for purposes other than providing their service.
We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request or court order.
Only your first name and last initial are visible to other Academy Members in the Partner Finder. Your exact location is never shared — the App shows only approximate distance between you and potential golf partners. You control your visibility in Partner Finder settings and can opt out at any time.
Your conversations with Ask Muse are processed by Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle this data — we recommend reviewing it at anthropic.com/privacy. We do not intentionally share personally identifiable information for third-party AI model training purposes.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data from our systems within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data that cannot be tied back to you may be retained indefinitely to improve the App.
We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure password hashing (bcrypt), and access controls to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of your information seriously.
Iron Muse Academy is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
The App may contain links to external websites such as the Iron Muse Golf shop, social media pages, or golf resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
